The naming ceremony
A Naming Ceremony is a wonderful celebration of love that is all about welcoming a new arrival into your family; or maybe announcing your name change to family and friends (takes the heat out of letting them know you have changed your name).
As parents, you have undoubtedly given much time and consideration to choosing your child’s name – the name they will carry for life and use to communicate with others on a daily basis.
This name you have given to your wonderful bundle of joy can be shouted from the rooftops, witnessed by those dear to you. Godparents, guardians or mentors can be appointed and recognised. It is a wonderful opportunity for family and friends to bond their lives with that of your child.
Inclusions
I will ensure your family traditions, beliefs and cultural values are included and respected within the ceremony.
We will also have a lot of smiles.
You may wish to include symbolic activities. The sealing of a time capsule, or releasing of balloons. The lighting of candles, or the planting of a tree. Perhaps contributing to a memento box of wish cards.
Planning
It is an honour to help you design a ceremony with love and meaning for the new arrival in your family.
Parents, grandparents, family and friends can participate by offering readings and participation in rituals. We can design ceremonies to help families blend from previous relationships, and for adopted children to recognise the very important love and support of their new family.
Certificate
You will receive a personalised naming certificate to commemorate the occasion, and additional copies for other participants at your request.
